About Golden ACres

Golden Acres is a dream that is truly years in the making. I, Heather, have dreamed of breeding dogs since I was a little girl. We have dedicated countless hours to ensure that we have done all we can to set our dogs and buyers up for success. Researching breeding techniques, reading scholarly articles on genetics, learning from experienced ethical breeders and veterinarians, studying up on our breeds, learning about puppy health and development- it has truly been a journey to get to where we are today. And our learning is far from over which is all part of the fun for us!

Another passion we have besides breeding and loving our dogs is family. Kyle and I have 5 children which makes our house both busy and fun! We live in Magrath, Alberta, a quiet little town that is all about family and community. We are fortunate to have the best of both worlds as we live in town while still having a full acre for the kids and dogs to run and play. And that is how we got our name, Golden Acres.
